Artist Information
Sam Gellaitry views the world through palettes of vivid colour. A C minor scale becomes purple, plum and grape. C-sharp minor is cool and blue. Night time is best evoked in dark F minor reds and D-sharp minor induces rich forest green. His music is a journey through experience, circumstance and surroundings, told through his impressive, synesthesia-informed knowledge of different musical tones.
Born far away from key electronic music hubs like LA, Glasgow and London, Sam, now 28, grew up in Stirling – an old town in central Scotland rich in medieval history and visually stunning views. Living here led Sam’s older brother to happy hardcore – a kind of hard dance music born from the UK and Europe’s breakbeat and rave scenes – which in turn led to Sam learning to produce and starting a SoundCloud page that very quickly developed a cult-like following.
After a string of celebrated EPs, including Escapism and 2021’s IV, Sam has stepped into new creative territory—incorporating his own vocals and visuals into his work. Most notably, his 2021 single “Assumptions” exploded across social media earlier this year, soundtracking over half a million short-form videos and landing organic support from brands such as LOEWE to celebrities like Megan Thee Stallion, Kate Hudson and Alix Earle. Amid an outpour of “2025 Song of the Summer” claims, naturally, the track found itself sitting atop global charts across Spotify and Apple Music, in addition to peaking at #2 globally across Shazam and TikTok’s Viral Top 50 lists.
After years of genre-bending EPs and cult-favorite collaborations with artists like PinkPantheress and Kaytranada, Sam Gellaitry is preparing to step into the spotlight and release his highly anticipated debut album - with the rollout set to begin in August this year. A culmination of years of sonic exploration, the project promises to bring his technicolour vision into sharper focus than ever before.
